For three decades, the Balingup Medieval Carnivale has transformed the heart of the Blackwood Valley into a living celebration of history, creativity and community. Since 1995, the Balingup Medieval Carnivale has grown from a small community celebration into one of Australia's most loved medieval festivals. It has evolved through the passion of volunteers, artisans, performers and historical re-enactors who bring the medieval world to life each year.

More than a festival, it is an immersive experience where history, creativity and community come together. Visitors can witness thrilling combat displays, discover traditional crafts, enjoy music and entertainment, browse artisan markets, and experience the sights, sounds and atmosphere of a vibrant medieval village.

The Balingup Medieval Carnivale welcomes everyone. Whether you're a lifelong medieval enthusiast or visiting for the first time, young or old, local or travelling from afar, you'll find a place here.

Once you come to the Balingup Medieval Carnivale, that's where you belong.

It is this spirit of inclusiveness, creativity and shared storytelling that has allowed the festival to continue evolving for over thirty years. More than a historical re-enactment, it is a celebration of community, craftsmanship and human connection—a place where everyone has a role to play and every visitor becomes part of the living history of Balingup.
